OSMO manufactures desalination systems, which produce excellent quality water from brackish water (L/B Commercial 1.000- 5.000 μS and H/B Industrial 5.000– 10.000 μS) or sea water (Sea Water Blue Marine) even when water flows through the desalination membrane only once. The produced water is of excellent quality and can be compared to the water of the best urban water supply systems. “Ippocrates” line produces water with particular specifications which is used in medicine, pharmaceutics, and electronics.
All produced units are based on a reverse osmosis system carrying a semi-permeable membrane which allows the separation of salts and other organic elements of the brackish and sea water, thus making it drinkable. This membrane is installed in a special membrane case made of a material resistant to high pressures and corrosion. All units are fed by electric pumps, manufactured of INOX AISI 316 and water pressure is adjusted by a stainless modulating valve. All the above elements, together with a panelboard, automations, the essential piping and wiring are installed on a stainless self-supporting base.

Water Filtration- Reverse Osmosis Filters
Vast industrial development has led to water pollution by industrial wastes, fertilizers, and chlorine compounds. OSMO is one of the most experienced water filter manufacturers constructing filters for any type of pollution, such as turbidity, chemical substances, odours, and oil compounds.
Sand filters– SF, consisting of quartz sand of special gradations, as well as anthracite contributing to the retention of oscillating elements in supply water.
Active anthracite filters- ACF, consisting of active anthracite which contributes to chlorine, organic substances, surface outgrowth retention, etc.
Deironization filters DF- Demanganisation filters DF, consisting of a special catalyst suitable for iron and manganese oxidization. Due to the wide variety of dimensions, oxides are detained via filtration.
Cartridge filters HIF- which constitute the most effective filtration way due to their large rotation surface- typical filtration rate 100-0.2m. in each desalination unit a 20m prefilter is used as well as a 5m filter.
Bag Filters which are normally used as prefilters reach a 5-100m filtration rate. Their main disadvantage is their small filtration surface.
In closed spaces where there is vaporisation (spas, indoor gyms) the phenomenon of vapour recompression is often observed. As a result, there is excess humidity, metal corrosion, and stay in such places is impossible. The use of Monoblock dehumidification systems or air channels provides a solution to this problem. Most types of waters throughout Greece contain high calcium and magnesium concentrations and are thus characterised as hard waters. Hard water causes incrustation to thermal networks (water heaters, boilers, electrical impedances), prevents foaming because it weakens soap effectiveness, leaves remnants to crystal, glasses and sanitary ware. Our industrial water-softening systems provide the solution to the problem with the use of ion exchange resins of our line DOL 132/240/360 and Pentair USA materials– DOW Chemical USA.
The presence of iron ions in the water affects its clarity, taste and smell. The permitted concentration limit of iron ions in drinkable water is 0.2 PPM. In order to remove iron ions it is necessary to use special deironization devices which oxidize and detain iron ions. These devices are fully automated and do not require consumables.
Water dealkalization is applied to systems where there is heat exchange or vaporization. This method is based on ion exchange resins. A dealkalizer is a type of ion exchange system with a resin container, an ion exchange resin and a regeneration control programmer. Regeneration takes place with the use of an acid solution.
The permitted nitrates limit in water is 50mg/l. If NO3 content is higher, it is necessary that an automatic denitrator be used. A denitrator is a form of ion exchange system with a resin container, an ion exchange resin and a regeneration control programmer. Regeneration takes place with the use of NaCl.
